2020 in Pictures: San Diego Protests

Pushing issues aside to cover them with "love" is a perfect example of toxic positivity. This physical representation above is pretty symbolic. Pretending it isn't happening and shaming people who are upset and frustrated won't make their problems or their fears go away. Allow yourself and others to feel feelings. Listen to what others have to say. Strive to do better.

"If you are truly spiritual, if you are truly 'woke,' you will prioritize to seek Truth about yourself and the world around you, no matter how dark and harsh and uncomfortable. Enlightenment is f*cking painful. So understand that if your definition of woke prioritizes 'positivity' over social justice and human rights, you are asleep" - @emmazeck_ on Instagram Adding photography galleries to my website often come out messy and lost in a sea of folders inside of folders, so welcome to my first try at showing them in the format of a photo blog entry. All of the photographs below were taken by me at various dates and locations across San Diego County during the summer of 2020. If you appear in any of these photographs and would like them to be removed, please contact me via the email form link. Please do not use photographs without my permission.
